Fajir in Bantwal Taluk, Dakshina Kannada District is about 12 kilometers South East of Mangalore. Ursuline Franciscan Sisters started to work in Fajir on June 4, 1938. To meet the needs of the people a play home was started in the year 2005. Sr. Olivia Sequiera became the first Headmistress of this play home with five students.
Alarge heart provides room for many. There was no building as such to start the school. A room in the convent was allotted for the Play Home. Sr. Lilly Dias succeeded Sr. Olivia Sequiera as Headmistress and served this institution for two years. Small in stature but great in vision she often organized programmes for the children. That became a sort of advertisement to attract children as well as parents to Little Angels. The number of students started increasing. The first floor was added to the convent building and the Mangalore Province financed the construction cost. Children’s Park was added simultaneously and later a stage was built at the entrance of the convent for the children to exhibit their talents.
Little Angel’s Play Home showed good signs of growth. One hundred and fifty students passed from Little Angel’s Play Home from 2015 to 2012. As a next step a nursery school was vital. The people of the area were continuously requesting sisters to start a Primary School too. Sr. Lilly Pinto, the Deputy Secretary worked for the permission to open a Pre Primary School and a Primary School at Fajir.
In June 2013 as Little Angels Pre Primary school, Fajir got permission from the Education Department and the play home was converted into Pre primary School. There were 80 students in the year 2013. Sr. Juliana D’Cunha took charge of the institution from June 1 st , 2013. She is a person adored by children and loved by parents as the Headmistress. In the Year 2014 as the New School building was constructed Little Angel’s Pre Primary School was housed in the new building. Sr. Preema D’Souza K. succeeded Sr. Juliana D’Cunha as Headmistress of this institution for better coordination and smooth administration. Sr. Preema D’Souza K., young, energetic and jovial, headmistress works hard for the growth of the institution as well as that of the students. God has blessed this School and he will make it bloom and grow. At present in the year 2017-18 there are 144 students schooling in Pre-Nursery, L.K.G and U.K.G.
