St Aloysius Girls Secondary School is in Coastal Region, Kibaha. The village where the school is located is called Visiga – Zegereni, s a rural area. A mud road leads to the school from the highway of Dar Es Salaam-Arusha. There are about 30 Kilometers from Kibaha town to Madafu. From there to the school one has to go by a mud road of 4 kilometers. The area is not developed but with the advent of Chinese factories the area is slowly developing.

This land was given as a gift to UF sisters by Prof. Joseph Semboja, the brother of Fr. Maswetus, a very good friend of our sisters here in SAME. The school was started in 2012. The very humble beginning in 2012 with very minimum infrastructure today has developed and is still growing slowly but very steadily. The school has gained very good name in the district, Region and nation. The performance of the school is remarkable in such a short time. The school has just sent 2 batches and the school secured 6 th position in the nation last year out of 3280 secondary school which is a miracle. The parents come in search of the school for admission all because of goof formation discipline and performance.

St Aloysius Girls Secondary School is a blessing to the people around and at the same time school has received blessing too from many people like parents, school board, good and committed staff, hardworking students and supportive management and the Region. At Present there is Form I TO IV with two divisions each with total number of 329 students in six sections.

The school just finished six years of its establishment and is with great dreams to realize and plans to reach wider horizons and stand out as a model school in Tanzania.

HEAD OF THE SCHOOL

Sr. Leena Mathias is hailing from Kelagur, Mudigere Taluk, Chickmagalur District. She completed her Primary Education in Sacred Heart Hr. Pry. School, Hirebile and High School education in Carmel High School, Mandya. She studied her Pre University College Studies in St. Aloysiaus College, Mangalore.
She obtained her degree in Bachelor in Arts in St. Aloysius Degree College, Mangalore.

Sr. Leena Mathias obtained her Degree in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) in Salt Christian College, Dimapur, Nagaland. She has done her Master’s Degree in Counselling (M.Sc) in Montford College, Bangalore. She has a diploma in Child’s Psychology in Shrived, Bangalore and Basic Theology in Hyderabad. She has also procured a Diploma in Catechetics & Photography in Vishwadeep Bangalore. She has studied Kiswahili language course in Morogoro. Sr. Leena Mathias has many years of teaching experience to her credit. She started Assisi Pre- Primary and Primary School in Dimapur, Nagaland and taught there for three years. She was appointed asHeadmistress in Sacred Heart English medium School, Madanthyar, Dakshina Kannada, India and worked in that capacity for 4 years.

Sr. Leena Mathias started her teaching career in Sneha Sangama Primary School in Bijapur, Karnataka, India. Here she received ‘Best Teacher Award’ of the year she was the Headmistress of Marian Pre- Primary School for2 Years. She taught in Changale Seminary High School, Tanzania and was in charge of
Assisi Pre Form Students. She was transferred to St. Aloysius Girls Pre-Primary School for 5 years. Sr. Leena Mathias came to Visiga and became the Headmistress for 4 years of St. Aloysius Girls Secondary School. Then She was the Headmistress of Assisi Pre-Primary & Primary School, SAME. At present she serves St. Aloysius Girls Secondary School, Visiga as Headmistress since January 2018.

In the beginning the plan was to have a formation house. Later the Region felt better to start a secondary school for girls with the vision of “Integral standard of education, trained in Godly character, a child has physical, mental, emotional, social and personal growth in this area with excellence” and mission “to build a solid foundation for its students by imparting integrated education faith formation and to be responsible global citizens to face all new challenges in future society” The motto of the school is “education for fullness of life”

The school was started in 2012. The school still needs infrastructure and much development together with the beginning of ‘A’ level. All these are possible but time is needed together with the funds. God has assisted us and we trust and believe that He will continue to assist us The School is awarded from the District for the form II best performances.

The certificate of appreciation for being the best performing school in the District 2014,15, and 2016. The school received the Certificate of appreciation for being the best performing private school in the Nation 2016 and 2017 and the shield CSEE 2016 from the Ministry of Education for being the best performing private school in the Country. At Present there is Form I to IV with two divisions each and total number of 329 students in six sections.

Three batches have completed of Form IV with outstanding results. The school has got added infrastructure such as three laboratories i.e. Biology, Chemistry and Physics. A hall with stage for extracurricular activities is built in 2015. Two dormitories were constructed as hostel facility for boarders in 2015-16. An open stage is built for graduation and other purposes. A multipurpose hall for dinning and other ruses is built in year 2017. A kitchen is under construction. The school just finished six years of its establishment and is with great dreams to realize and plans to reach wider horizons and stand out as a model school in Tanzania.
